Republican National Convention

I created breaking news social videos from each night of the 2016 Republican National Convention. Every morning, I would identify possible story candidates with my editor and sketch out script ideas. Then, during the convention, I would identify the key storytelling moment and ship out a produced social video that same evening.

Social Videos

I produced and edited a "day-in-review" video for each day of the RNC as part of our coverage of the 2016 Presidential Election. We also published raw video clips of the most social-friendly moments as they occurred.

I worked with my editor to identify which speakers would likely have moments that would play well online, and watched the conventions live. When something notable happened, like the crowd booing Sen. Ted Cruz for refusing to explicitly endorse Donald Trump, we'd jump into gear and begin production.

It required strong collaboration to build and approve the scripts quickly so we could publish before the social moment had passed.
